Camping percolators, presses and drippers are mostly imported, but two are made in the USA: the AeroPress Go, a travel press that packs into its own mug, and Apex Giant's flat aluminum or titanium pour-over dripper, machined near Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
Each listing names what is known to come from elsewhere.
Best made in USA outdoor camping coffee makers, ranked
Ranked by Made in USA level, highest first; ties are in alphabetical order. The level measures how much is made in the USA, not product quality. How the levels work
AeroPress makes the AeroPress Go, a compact travel and camping version of its manual coffee press that packs into its own mug, along with the Original, Clear and XL presses and paper micro-filters. Inventor Alan Adler introduced the AeroPress in 2005; the company is based in Palo Alto, California.
AeroPress's Go page says: "AeroPress Go is manufactured in the USA."
AeroPress's FAQ lists what it makes in the USA: "Manufactured in USA: Original, Go, Clear, Clear Colors, Clear XL and Original XL coffee makers; white paper filters; natural paper filters." Its Premium and Steel coffee makers, manual grinder and most accessories are made in China, and the Go Plus pairs a US-made brewer with a tumbler made in China.
AeroPress uses contract molders; AllAmerican.org reported factories in Livermore, California and Woodstock, Illinois in 2021, and says the polypropylene and silicone seal are US made. The Clear models use Eastman Tritan, which Eastman makes in the USA. Where today's molders are isn't stated.
Production history: inventor Alan Adler's Aerobie launched the AeroPress in 2005, molded in the USA from the start. The company was renamed AeroPress, Inc. in 2017, and Canada's Tiny Capital bought a controlling stake in 2021, keeping the same factory. Newer lines (Premium, Steel, grinder) are made in China.
Our rough estimate: parts of unconfirmed origin (resin, seal compound) are about 0–10% of a press's value.
Level 4.5 for its AeroPress Go travel press: AeroPress says its Go travel press is manufactured in the USA; only where its resin is made isn't confirmed.
Apex Giant makes an ultralight pour-over coffee dripper for backpacking and camping: three flat aluminum or titanium panels that fit together over a mug and take standard #2 paper filters, sold with a stuff sack by its sister company, Hilltop Packs. Both are based in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
The product page says "MADE IN THE USA" and: "Made right here in the USA by APEX GIANT (Our sister company). APEX GIANT products are designed and made in local machine shops near Waynesburg PA."
Where the aluminum and titanium sheet is made isn't stated, and the included paper filters and stuff sack aren't described.
Production history: Apex Giant's dripper is sold by Hilltop Packs, which sews its backpacks in Waynesburg; both versions were in stock in November 2026.
Our rough estimate: parts of unknown origin (metal sheet, filters, stuff sack) are about 0–25% of a kit's value.
Level 4 for its aluminum and titanium coffee dripper kit: Apex Giant has its dripper panels made in local machine shops near Waynesburg, Pennsylvania; where the metal comes from isn't stated.
