Research notes
  • Nordic Ware's 2 Cavity Egg Poacher, Egg Bites Pan, Omelet Pan and Eggs 'N Muffin pan pages read "Made In: USA" with no qualifier. Its microwave Egg Boiler, which has an aluminum insert, reads "Made In: TAIWAN."
  • Nordic Ware molds plastic microwave cookware at its St. Louis Park factory. It doesn't say where its plastic resin is made.
  • Production history: family-owned and making kitchenware in Minnesota since 1946; a 2025 Made in USA lawsuit over its aluminum labels doesn't concern these plastic items. On November 3, 2026 all of its egg cookers were out of stock on its site.
  • Our rough estimate: plastic resin of unknown origin is about 25–40% of a poacher's value.

Level 4.5 for its microwave egg poachers and egg pans: Nordic Ware labels its microwave egg poachers and egg pans Made in USA and molds them in Minnesota; its Egg Boiler is made in Taiwan.

What "made in USA" means for egg cookers

  • Check each product, not the brand. Nordic Ware labels its egg poachers "Made In: USA" but its Egg Boiler "Made In: TAIWAN" on its own product pages.
  • Electric egg cookers are imported. We found none built in the USA.

Each listing's research notes show what was checked and when, including our rough estimate of how much of the value is imported. Ratings are rechecked as companies answer.

Change log

What's changed since our last update on December 12, 2014?

  • This page has a new name and address. It was Egg Boilers; it is now Egg Cookers, and the old egg boilers address leads here.
  • This page now covers egg cookers. Nordic Ware's microwave Egg Boiler is now made in Taiwan, so its listing is rated for its US-made egg poachers and egg pans instead.
  • Every maker now has a Made in USA level from 0 to 5, with the sources and research notes behind it. See how the levels work.
