Nearly every 10-cup home drip coffee maker sold in the USA is made in China. The one listed here, BUNN of Illinois, assembles its Speed Brew brewers in the USA from foreign and domestic parts; we found no 10-cup home brewer fully made in the USA.
A drip brewer's heating element, thermostat and glass carafe are a large share of its value. Each listing names what is known to come from elsewhere.
BUNN makes Speed Brew 10-cup home coffee brewers, including the Classic, Select, Elite and Platinum Thermal models, which keep water hot in an internal tank so a full pot brews in minutes, along with its commercial brewers. Founded in 1957 and based in Springfield, Illinois, BUNN became part of Italy's Ali Group in 2026.
Retailers carry BUNN's own wording for its Speed Brew brewers: Target lists the Platinum Thermal as "Designed and Assembled in USA" with an origin of "Assem USA w/foreign/dom. parts," and Farm & Fleet lists the Select as "Designed and assembled in the USA." In 2020 Roasty Coffee reported the Speed Brew Classic, BT, GR and BX were assembled in Creston, Iowa.
BUNN's company page: "Many of our products are labeled 'Assembled in the USA.' The majority of all commercial equipment models are assembled at facilities in the USA. Some of the components for our products are also tooled in these same facilities." Every model is designed or tested at its Springfield, Illinois headquarters.
Production history: BUNN has made coffee brewers since 1957 and has assembled them in Springfield and at a plant in Creston, Iowa since the 2000s. Italy's Ali Group completed its purchase of BUNN in March 2026 and placed it in its Welbilt group; no production change was announced.
Our rough estimate: imported parts (heating element, thermostat, glass decanter, some housing parts) are about 50–70% of a brewer's value.
Level 3 for its Speed Brew 10-cup home brewers: BUNN assembles its Speed Brew brewers in the USA from foreign and domestic parts.
"Assembled in USA" is the best you'll find. BUNN's Speed Brew boxes say assembled in the USA from foreign and domestic parts.
We found no other. We checked other 10-cup home brewers sold as American and found none made or assembled in the USA.
Each listing's research notes show what was checked and when, including our rough estimate of how much of the value is imported. Ratings are rechecked as companies answer.
