Blendtec Total Classic
The Total Classic is Blendtecs most basic model of home blender they produce.
The heart of all Blendtec blenders are its cold-forged hardened steel blades with blunt edges and right angles.
Which when used in conjunction with the Wildside + jar produces a highly efficient blending process that not only blends tough ingredients fast, but the dynamics are such that these blenders typically do not require the aid of a tamping device. There are 10 variable speeds plus 6 preprogrammed blending settings; where you can fill the jar, set the desired blend, and the machine does the rest, making it the most hands-free unit of the three.
One issue that you might consider is that although the blade design does make very quick work of taking the rough & tough and turning it into the smooth, the infused vertical blending design has limitations, namely 36 oz's of blended liquid volume.
Any more than that and the performance drops off quickly, so if you foresee a regular need of more than about a quart of finished product per batch, you might consider either of the two other brands. The 2 year parts and labor warranty is lower compared to the other two competitors in the list, but you can buy warranty upgrades to 3 or 6 years.
#adsAll of Blendtec residential and commercial counter-top blenders are designed and assembled in Orem, Utah, with components either manufactured in-house or sourced primarily from the USA. -
KitchenAid Pro-Line KSB7068
The KitchenAid Pro-Line KSB6068 Blender at its core is basically a commercial grade blender that has been given a home blender label. It shares the same brute 3.5 HP motor and mixing blades as their commercial models, minus a few bells & whistles.
The base and controls are sturdy die-cast metal and although that adds weight to the unit it also adds greater stability that resists twisting when pulsing large, heavy batches. The BPA free mixing jar has a capacity of 60 oz which should be more than enough for the serious home foodie, and the mixing blades are multi-angled to help shred ingredients fast.
The blending process is the typical spinning vortex, which does allow for blending larger batches, like most vortex blenders it sometimes requires the aid of a tamping device to facilitate the process.
The motor is the most powerful of the three brands on the list, and the variable speed dial has 11 settings plus a high/low pulse toggle switch giving the user slightly more control over the other two.The free 10 year full replacement warranty is the longest of the three, which shows the confidence KitchenAid has in this product.
This model is ideal for the serious home user that wants to be able to blend just about anything, in large quantities, regularly, and not have to worry about over-stressing the machine. This unit can handle the job.
One drawback is availability. KitchenAid products are designed for the serious home user and not the mass market, thus production runs are limited so you might have to wait a while to find this unit in stock.
#ads KitchenAid Proline series of blenders are assembled at Whirlpools Greenville, Ohio manufacturing plant, using foreign components. KitchenAid's commercial blenders are also assembled at Greenville, using both domestic and foreign components. -
Vitamix E310 Explorian
The Vitamix Explorian E310 is one of their best selling models for the household user.
The symmetrical 3" blades are slightly lower profile than the others, which means they are taking smaller bites with each revolution. The less aggressive design requires less motor HP, although the trade off is more time, and as such, it could take the Vitamix a little longer to blend a full jar of vegetables and heat them up into a hot batch of soup.
To be clear this blender does not struggle to get the job done, simply put it was purposefully designed to do a good job while using less power.
The less aggressive blade design also means that the 48 oz jar can be filled nearly to the top so you can worry less about spill-over. Again the trade-off being you might be required to use the supplied tamper more often to facilitate complete blending. An important feature not available on the other brands is the automatic shut-off if the unit senses the motor is getting too hot. No one wants the added expense of replacing a burned out motor and this safety feature take the guess work out of high-demand blending; so if you push it too hard it simply shuts down and you'll have to wait until it cools off before restarting.
The 5 year warranty covers parts, labor and shipping to and from Vitamix.
#adsVitamix designing, engineering and high end assembly work taking place at their headquarters at Olmsted Township, Ohio. In 2013 a second assembly plant was opened in Stongsville, about eight miles from their headquarters. Out-sourcing of the components includes both domestic and international suppliers. Some machines contain some domestic parts, but that may not always be the case. -
Waring BB300 Commercial Bar Blender
The Waring BB300 Blade Bar Blender is a medium-duty commercial blender that is NSF listed and is made in America.
The heavy-duty industrial strength, semi-symmetrical 4 steel blades are very efficient at making smoothies, ice cream drinks, frozen fruit smoothies, iced coffee, frozen drinks and cocktails.
The 48 oz. jar is made of BPA-free material and is large enough to quickly blend three 16 oz. margaritas at once.
The co-polyester jars are also stackable which in a busy smoothie or coffee shop, or bar saves much needed under-counter space. The drive base develops 1 horsepower while drawing only 840 watts (7 amps), means you can share the same electrical circuit with other devices.
The motor controls are an uncomplicated, no-frills hi/low 2-speed toggle with a separate pulse-function switch. The limited 2 year warranty is excellent considering the price range of this unit compared to other brands, but one important thing to note is that the warranty covers only commercial use, so if you do plan on using this at home, there is no coverage.
And this business decision unfortunately has lead to some lower customer satisfaction ratings from people who were unaware of this fact.
But from a commercial investment perspective the low price backed up with the 2 warranty means this blender will help make you money and not cost you money, which is why I recommend this particular model.Amazon #adsEvery model of Waring Pro commercial blenders final assembly takes place at McConnellsburg, PA.
