The valve train opens and closes the valves in time with the pistons. American makers on this page grind camshafts in Tennessee, California, Illinois and Ohio, and build lifters, roller rocker arms, shaft rocker systems, pushrods, valve springs and cam belt drives in shops from New Jersey to California.

Most are specialists in one or two parts. Valve train parts have to work as a set, so check the maker's recommendations for spring pressure, pushrod length and rocker ratio for your camshaft. Cylinder heads are on the cylinder heads page.
