Central vacuums are still built in the USA by a handful of family companies: VacuMaid in Oklahoma, VACUFLO in Ohio and InterVac Design in Florida, whose compact units also go into new RVs.
A central vacuum's power unit is a steel or plastic canister around a motor, and the motor is usually bought in. Each listing is rated for the company's most American-made power units and says what is known to come from elsewhere.

InterVac Design makes compact built-in central vacuums that need no pipe runs, including the InterVac Pro for homes and condos, wall-mounted GarageVac units, and RoadVac systems that RV builders install in new coaches. The company has been building vacuums in South Florida since 1997.
InterVac's About page says, "We injection mold and assemble our systems in Florida," and that it "built 32,000 RV central vacuum systems in 2025" for coach builders such as Forest River, Jayco, Keystone and Tiffin. Its owner wrote in 2025 that its vacuums "are crafted with pride in the USA, using some globally sourced components."
Where the motors are made isn't stated, and the company doesn't name its globally sourced components.
Production history: InterVac has built vacuums in South Florida since 1997. In 2024 a dealer reported that Nuera Air, a central vacuum group whose brands had included InterVac, halted production; InterVac, now led by president Aaron Martz, reports building 32,000 RV systems in 2025 and still lists its Palm City plant. We found no move or closing.

Lindsay Manufacturing makes VacuMaid central vacuum power units, installation kits and accessories for homes and businesses, plus wall-mounted garage and car vacuums, sold through professional installers and online. The fourth-generation family company has been in Ponca City, Oklahoma since 1956.
VacuMaid's How It's Made page says its systems "are manufactured by Lindsay Manufacturing in Ponca City, Oklahoma. From forming the steel canister to powder coating, motor assembly and final packaging, the work happens inside our manufacturing facility," and that the canisters are "Built From Steel, Not Simply Assembled." Its spec sheet says, "Proudly manufactured in the USA since 1956."
The motors come from an outside supplier; a 2025 case study by Bison (part of Ametek) names Lindsay as a customer. Where the motors and controls are made isn't stated; the steel's origin isn't stated either.
Production history: Lindsay Manufacturing has made VacuMaid systems in Ponca City since 1956 and lists a 150,000 square foot plant at 3 Darr Park Drive. The 2025 Bison case study shows it still building there. We found no move or layoff.

H-P Products makes VACUFLO central vacuum systems for homes, including True Cyclonic, Filtered Cyclonic and bagged power units, hoses, inlets and tools, sold through dealers and installers. Founded in 1945, the family-owned company also makes central vacuum tubing and fittings at its plants in Ohio.
VACUFLO's About page says its "Central Vacuum Systems are proudly assembled in Canton, Ohio, by H-P Products, Inc." and that H-P "has three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Ohio totaling over 300,000 square feet." Its November 2024 brochure says, "Designed & Assembled in Canton, Ohio."
H-P also makes central vacuum tubing and fittings in Ohio, but no source says the power unit housings are made there, and where the motors are made isn't stated.
Production history: H-P Products has been in Louisville and Canton, Ohio since 1945. Its 2024 brochure and its current site say VACUFLO units are assembled in Canton. We found no move or closing.

Look for real fabrication. VacuMaid forms its steel canisters from coil and powder coats them in Ponca City; InterVac molds its own housings in Florida.
"Assembled" means fewer US parts. VACUFLO says its systems are assembled in Canton, Ohio, which rates lower than a maker that forms or molds its own housings.
Motors are the big unknown. None of these makers says where its motors are made.
