What "made in USA" means for dishwashers

  • Pumps and controls are often imported. Whirlpool's own label says it uses domestic and imported components, and most makers don't say where their pumps and motors come from.
  • Check the brand's own claim. GE lists its US-built dishwashers on a "Produced in America" page; some brands built in US plants make no made-in-USA claim, so we couldn't list them yet.

Each listing's research notes show what was checked and when, including our rough estimate of how much of the value is imported. Ratings are rechecked as companies answer.
