Sources and research notes

Source: Goodman, plant locations · Goodman, why Goodman · Covering Katy, 2026, checked

  • Goodman's plant page asks, "Where are Goodman brand heating and cooling products assembled?" and answers that the 4.2 million square foot Daikin Texas Technology Park near Houston "brings together Goodman's manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and customer support under one, very large roof." Its brochures say its products are "designed, engineered and assembled in the U.S.A."
  • Compressors (Copeland scroll compressors in many models), motors and controls are bought in; where they are made isn't stated. Whether the coils and cabinets are formed in Waller isn't documented.
  • Production history: Goodman built its products in Houston and Tennessee until Daikin, its owner since 2012, consolidated them in the Waller plant in 2017. In June 2026 Daikin was hiring 400 production workers there. A Daikin plant in Mexico (2022) is for mini-split products, not Goodman.
  • Our rough estimate: imported or likely imported parts (compressors, motors, controls and valves) are about 40–60% of the value.
