Headers replace the factory exhaust manifolds with individual tubes for each cylinder that merge in a collector, which helps the engine push out exhaust. The American shops on this page cut, bend and weld headers in-house: long-tube and shorty headers for muscle cars, trucks, Jeeps and LS swaps, racing headers for circle track and drag racing, and custom headers built to order.
Several also make header parts for builders who make their own: merge collectors, mandrel bends, flanges, slip joints and stainless tubing. Some of these shops also make crossover pipes, mufflers and complete exhaust systems.
