Only a few production sailboat builders are left in the USA. The builder listed here has built sailboats in northeast Ohio since 1961, with models from about 27 to 53 feet for day sailing and long-distance cruising.
Tartan builds sailboats from the 27-foot T27 to the 53-foot T53 (T27, T34, T37, T40, T45, T53) for day sailing and long-distance cruising, a line it has built since 1961.
Made in: Fairport Harbor, OH. A group of manufacturing veterans led by longtime Tartan partner Jon Duer took over in 2026 and says it will keep building boats in northeast Ohio with the same team.
