Most RVs sold in North America are built in the US, and most of those in northern Indiana, around Elkhart, Middlebury and Bristol. Other long-running plants are in Iowa, Ohio, Alabama and South Dakota. This page covers Class A, B and C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and folding trailers.

Motorhomes and camper vans are built on truck and van chassis bought from automakers such as Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Ram, so the engine and chassis are not made by the RV company. Each listing names the chassis where the company says so. Several brands here belong to larger groups: Thor Industries (Airstream, Thor Motor Coach, Tiffin), Forest River (Coachmen), Winnebago Industries and the Terex RV Group (Renegade).
