Most new cars sold in the USA are now built here, but not all of them, and not always by the brand you'd expect. Ford and GM import some of their best sellers, while Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes-Benz build many of their US models in Kentucky, Ohio, Alabama and South Carolina. Each listing names the plants and the models built there, and the well-known models that are imported.

The automakers featured below build more vehicles in American plants than most. Each listing says what is built where, and what is not. Featured spots are not paid for, and every featured company also appears, with more detail, on its type page.
