Ahearne Cycles. Hand built bicycles with love and fury in Portland, Oregon.
Ahrens Bicycles uses only the finest materials during the build process. Our TIG-welded steel frames blend tubing offered by Reynolds, Columbus, True Temper, Dedacciai and Tange. Our TIG-welded aluminum frames blend Easton tubing and machined frame components including dropouts and rear triangle yokes. To achieve proper frame sizing and optimal fit, every frame is developed using advanced 3D modeling software. This flexible design approach enables frame geometry to be changed easily based on body dimensions, riding style, frame type and tubing selection.

Fuso’s frame building experience dates back to 1957, where Dave Moulton first learned this craft from a man named Albert 'Pop' Hodge in Luton, England. Dave made frames under his own name, Recherche, and once in the US built for MASI, then under John Howard, and finally FUSO in 1984. His apprentice, Russ Denny, continues the legend of FUSO with 25 years of his own experience. There is the original, and three new models, that all carry the FUSO ride characteristics that made the bike one of the most sought after in the 1980s.
Andy Gilmour has been building custom bicycle frames and complete bikes made from the highest quality materials for more than 30 years. In addition to frame building, Gilmour offers several other services including, frame repainting, frame repair and bicycle fitting.

Tim Neenan was shop manager at the widely known Bicycle Center in Santa Cruz when he built the first Lighthouse frame in 1975. Local riders recognized the quality and performance of those early Lighthouse bikes, enabling Tim to begin building full time in 1976. By 1996, he'd created over 1000 frames.

Richard Sachs Cycles
I have been building bicycle frames since 1972. And unlike many of my peers in the trade who may put their names on frames built by their assistants, or on frames built in the Orient for them to sell here, I work alone. For a Richard Sachs frame, I select the geometry, cut and braze the tubes, file the lugs, and do all the tasks necessary to complete the 4 to 6 frames I build each month. It has always been this way.

Each of our carbon, titanium and steel frames are designed by Ben Serotta and hand crafted to bring out the champion in every cyclist. Our craftsmen don't just build any bike. They build great bikes. Saratoga Frameworks was founded on a simple principle: to continue a legacy of excellence, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our collective experience building some of the finest handbuilt frames around is what ensures that every bike that leaves the factory will perform the way.
Every Shawver Cycles frame is designed and built by me in San Carlos, CA using many of the same proven tools and techniques that a framebuilder in 1890 or 1970 would have used. Each frame is designed and tubes and components are selected to meet the specific needs of each customer. I can build any kind of steel frame, with common types including cyclocross, road, mountain, track, randonneur and touring.
Our focus is making better frames; built to be ridden rather than idolized, not something to be coveted for what they are, but for what they can do. The goal is always build it quicker, build it better, and we achieve it by investing in machinery, fixtures, materials, and by designing new construction processes and more accurate fitting methods.
All the frames that leave our shop are crafted from steel. Our customers love all the variations and options between tig welded and lugged construction. Steel forks have really made a comeback too. Motivation is at historic levels and it feels like there is some kind of young blood flowing through my veins. Thanks for reading this and I hope to meet you someday if you like what I do.
Steve Potts Bicycles
Steve Potts has been called one of the best bicycle frame builders of the past 30 years. In fact, Steve is the only one of the original mountain bike pioneering Repack group of the late 1970s who still builds his own framesets. His refinement of steel and titanium tubing is legendary, as is evident by the collectors willing to pay thousands for a classic Steve Potts bicycle on eBay. Steve himself is a product of Marin County, California, birthplace of the modern mountain bike and the epicenter for innovation for nearly 20 years.
My name is Aaron Stinner and I handcraft custom bicycle frames in Santa Barbara, California. I love riding bikes, but more importantly I enjoy both the challenge and the incredible reward of building bikes that are designed perfectly for an individual.

Most cyclists don't race, yet they ride uncomfortable racing bikes and try to go too fast and so miss much of the world around them. Our emphasis is on a more relaxed and comfortable style of riding, and on refined bikes that are comfortable on a century ride, an inn-to-inn tour, or even on a ramble down your favorite dirt road.
