Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority
The Oklahoma Wind Energy Center was the state's first large-scale commercial wind energy project. OMPA purchases and transmits wind-generated electricity from 34 General Electric 1.5-megawatt turbines located northeast of Woodward, Oklahoma.Wind-generated electricity is offered to our member cities for sale to their commercial and residential customers. OMPA's wind turbines produced 153,147 megawatt-hours during 2009.
