Phillip Patton has been making knives since about 1999. In 2004 he started forging and that's how he makes most of his knives now, including those using stainless and high alloy tool steels. He is currently an apprentice smith with the American Bladesmith Society and hopes to take the Journeyman Smith performance test soon. He makes all his knives completely himself, from raw materials to the finished product.
Dan Petersen is an ABS Master Smith with almost forty years of knifemaking experience. Next year will mark his 27th year as a Master Smith with the American Bladesmith Society. All his knives are forged in his shop. He makes the sheaths (leather wrapped wood sheaths), forges the blades, grinds, heat treats, etc.
